Popular Car Manufacturers

Owning a car has become an important, sometimes neccessary, commodity for everyone and gone are the days when it was considered a luxury item. In the last decade or so cars have undergone a number of changes like improvement in looks, the addition of accessories like audio and video systems, the advent of car tracking system called GPS, etc. Most car companies have been working hard to change themselves with the changing times and they have been launching new models of the cars to meet the tastes and requirements of people. Companies that have changed with the times have been able to survive, while those that could not change have failed to survive.
One of the major car manufacturers in India that has failed to change is Hindustan Motors, the manufacturers of the Ambassador Model. There was a time when the company was considered to be the number auto manufacturer in India, but no more now. There are a number of such companies that have huge infrastructures, but not have been changing with the times. These days the car market is becoming similar to mobile and computer markets, where only the companies launching new models at regular intervals survive.
The most popular car manufacturers are the ones those who have been in the market for a number of years and whose number of models have been running successfully. These companies have the advantage that if the sales of one of the models are dissapointing, it gets compensated by the other, more popular models.

Best New Cars for 2011

If you’re looking to make a splash with your next car, consider an all-new 2011 model. Many of the most exciting 2011s are already on dealer lots or readily available for pre-order. Since these are brand new or redesigned from the ground up, chances are most people have never seen them before. Plus, manufacturers are already offering incentives on most of these models to get the buzz going and get people into showrooms.
Buy one of these cool 2011 cars and you’re sure to get a great car at a great deal -- not to mention a few jealous stares next time you’re cruising down the highway.
Following are the new cars of 2011.

2011 Ford Fiesta

 2011 Ford Fiesta
2011 Ford Fiesta

Starting Price: $13,320 Available for pre-order (on sale in summer 2010)

One of the most anticipated cars for 2011 is the Ford Fiesta, which has been on sale in Europe since 2008. Now North America is finally getting a version of this popular small car – and early test drives show it doesn't disappoint. In fact, at press time, the Fiesta is already ranked at the top of our Affordable Small Car class and gets our highest Overall score ever (9.6 out of 10).

So why is it so well-liked? Because it offers things many other small cars don’t, such as a fun driving experience and a comfortable, upscale cabin. The Fiesta has features rarely seen in its class -- from available heated seats to Ford's SYNC system to a driver’s knee airbag. On top of that, it manages to get hybrid-like fuel economy (but doesn’t cost nearly as much as most hybrids). Ford estimates the Fiesta will get 30 miles per gallon in the city and 40 miles per gallon on the highway.

2011 Hyundai Sonata

 2011 Hyundai Sonata
2011 Hyundai Sonata

Starting Price: $19,195

Completely redesigned for 2011, the new Hyundai Sonata is one of the most unusual-looking midsize sedans we’ve seen in years. But that’s not the only reason it stands out. The Sonata is now one of the cheapest cars in its class and continues to carry one of the longest powertrain warranties. It also comes with impressive standard features like XM satellite radio and Bluetooth. Reviewers like it so much that at press time, the Sonata was ranked at the top of its class.

Hyundai offers the Sonata with only a four-cylinder engine, though almost every other car in its class is available with a V6. Still, since the Sonata is a light car, it offers plenty of power. Even better is its impressive fuel economy. The 2011 Sonata is the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid car in its class.

2011 Kia Sorento

 2011 Kia Sorento
2011 Kia Sorento

Starting Price: $22,395

Previously an also-ran within its competitive class, the 2011 Kia Sorento has lost its truck-based platform and is now one of the most comfortable-riding and powerful compact SUVs. It’s even giving class leaders, like the Toyota RAV4, a run for their money. The Sorento has an optional third-row seat (rare in this class), class-leading warranties, and impressive standard features like Bluetooth.

Kia estimates its fuel economy at 21/29 mpg city/highway. This is about average for the class, but it’s quite good considering that the Sorento can accommodate up to seven passengers. In fact, few seven-passenger SUVs cost less or net more miles per gallon than the Sorento. And even fewer can touch its 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

2011 Nissan Leaf

 2011 Nissan Leaf
2011 Nissan Leaf

Starting Price: $32,780 (before up to $7,500 in federal tax savings) Available for reservation (starting May 15, with delivery in December 2010)

When the Nissan Leaf hits the streets, it will be the first mass-produced all-electric vehicle -- and it even comes with a relatively affordable price (and is eligible for tax credits on top of that). The Leaf runs on an electric motor powered by a massive battery pack which can be charged by a standard 220-volt home outlet or a quick-charging station. The Leaf can travel up to 100 miles on a full charge -- more than most people drive in a single day.

It’s a four-door hatchback and seats up to five passengers, so you can use the Leaf as a family car. Since it doesn’t require gasoline, it is inexpensive to operate and should be ideal for commuters, too. According to Nissan, based on national average electricity rates, the Leaf should only cost three dollars to charge. Plus, initial test drives show that this electric vehicle drives just as well as any car, with smooth acceleration and braking.

2011 Infiniti M

 2011 Infiniti M
2011 Infiniti M
Starting Price: $46,250 Incentives: 2.9% APR for up to 60 months on M37 trims; Expires 6/30/10

Long overshadowed by rivals like the BMW 5-Series, the Infiniti M has never received much attention. But it’s a different story for 2011 -- Infiniti has redesigned the M, and it’s now one of the best-performing full-size luxury
sedans. The new model adds more power, sharper handling, and more luxurious interior materials. It also boasts a new look that’s difficult to ignore. Some reviewers love the look, while others think it’s hideous. Either way, the 2011 M is sure to get you noticed.

The M is also big on technology. Its suite of high-tech safety features include a blind spot warning system that will actually take over steering in order to avoid a collision. There’s also a class-exclusive, optional “Forest Air” system that varies the vent fan speed in order to replicate the effects of a breeze. Engineers say it can even detect and neutralize cabin odors.

Least Expensive Cars of 2011 " cheapest cars in U.S.A"

Looking for cheap wheels? Here they are -- the least-expensive 2011 cars on sale in America. (All prices are MSRP (sticker price) plus destination charge.) The About.com Cars test team has driven all of these cheap cars, and this list will tell you which are the real deals -- and which are the real duds.
These are th inexpensive cars of 2011

1. Hyundai Accent GL, $10,705

Hyundai Accent

Hyundai Accent Gl

Despite a modest price increase and its third name change in as many years (first it was the Accent GS Base, then the Accent Blue, and now it's the Accent GL) , the little Hyundai hatchback is once again the least expensive car in America. As you can imagine, the Accent GL is pretty well stripped down; air conditioning is a $1,000 option, but if you want anything else -- power windows, an automatic transmission, or even a radio -- you'll have to step up to the $13,415 Accent GS -- and for that price, there are better cars.
Not that the Accent GL is a bad car; it comes with power steering and an eager 110 horsepower engine, and it's good fun to drive in a back-to-basics sort of way. Still, limited safety equipment and mediocre crash scores make it difficult to justify.

2. Nissan Versa 1.6, $10,740

Nissan Versa

Nissan Versa 1.6

For $35 more than the Accent GL, the Nissan Versa 1.6 Base offers two extra doors, better resale value, and -- most importantly -- a lot more interior space, even more than some mid-size sedans. That makes the Versa 1.6 the cheapest set of family-friendly wheels available.
As of 2011, the Versa 1.6 comes standard with power windows and door locks -- not something you'd expect in a car tihs cheap. But there's still no stereo and color choices are limited to blue, silver and black. However, you can add antilock brakes, air conditioning and an automatic transmission and still keep the price (just) under $13,000. If you can afford a bit more, the bargain pricing extends throughout the Versa lineup -- a Versa 1.8 with a stereo, A/C, cruise control and electronic stability control lists for just $15,780.

3. Chevrolet Aveo LS Sedan, $12,685

Chevrolet Aveo

Chevrolet Aveo LS Sedan

Like most cars at this end of the price scale, the base-model Chevy Aveo is a stripped-down model, though it does get an AM/FM radio with an input jack for an MP3 player, OnStar, and a provision for dealer-installed air conditioning (at extra cost, of course). The Aveo offers a full color palette (unlike the Accent and Versa, offered only in a few dull colors) and a tan interior with fake-wood trim, which sounds cheesy but actually looks pretty nice. You can even get a hatchback version for $200 more.
On the flip side, the Aveo doesn't drive very well, it's weak on safety equipment, and adding factory A/C, a CD player, and power windows pushes the price well past $15k. For that kind of money, you can do much better.

4. Kia Rio Base Sedan, $12,990

Kia Rio

Kia Rio Base Sedan

The Kia Rio Base is much like the Hyundai Accent GL and the Nissan Versa in that it offers little standard equipment (no stereo, limited color choices) and few options (floor mats and, inexplicably, a trunk-mounted .The Rio has an eager engine, but the non-power-assisted steering feels lousy in the curves and makes parking a workout. The next step up from the Rio Base is the Rio LX, which gets air conditioning, a CD player, and antilock brakes (ABS) -- but at $15,690, it's a staggering $3,700 more than a Nissan Versa 1.6 with optional A/C and ABS. (At that price, the Versa lacks a stereo, but that's easily solved with a trip to Best Buy.) And the Nissan has better resale values and crash test scores. Just goes to show that a low price doesn't always mean good value.

5. Smart Fortwo Pure, $13,240

Smart Fortwo

Smart Fortwo Pure

It's no surprise that the smallest car in America is also one of the least expensive, but the cheapest version of the Smart Fortwo, called the Pure, is pretty sparse -- no power windows or mirrors, no air conditioning, not even a stereo. But it does include an automatic transmission and lots of safety gear, including side airbags, antilock brakes, and electronic stability control (ESC) -- in fact, it's the least-expensive car to offer this life-saving technology as standard. And the creature comforts missing in the Fortwo Pure come standard in the Fortwo Passion, which costs only $2,000 more.

6. Toyota Yaris 3-door Liftback, $13,615

Toyota Yaris

Toyota Yaris 3-door Liftback

The Yaris 3-door has always been one of the smartest cheap-car buys, with air conditioning, antilock brakes, and electronic stability control all standard and an automatic transmission reasonably priced at $800. If you need something with back doors, Toyota offers a 5-door version of the Yaris for just $300 more than the 3-door. The Yaris is good looking, easy to drive, and small, which means it can be squeezed into impossibly small parking spaces. Epic reliability makes the Yaris a good choice for those who keep their cars forever, and strong resale values are a plus for those who don't.

7. Kia Soul Base, $13,995

Kia Soul

Kia Soul Base

Kia's stylish mini-wagon is an intriguing car and an outstanding buy. The $13,995 base model includes air conditioning, power windows and locks, CD stereo with USB input jack, antilock brakes and electronic stability control -- arguably the best value-for-money on this list. So what's the catch? Well, the base-model Soul only comes in white, silver or black, it's not available with an automatic transmission, and its 122 horsepower 1.6 liter engine is less powerful than the 142 hp 2-liter unit found in other versions of the Soul -- but it's every bit as comfortable, practical and safe. If you can live with a stick-shift, the base-model Soul is a lot of car for the money.

8. Ford Fiesta S Sedan, $13,995

Ford Fiesta

Ford Fiesta S Sedan

The Fiesta is a brand-new addition to this list, and it comes on strong, with four doors, a 120 horsepower engine, electronic stability control, power steering, and an AM/FM radio with an auxiliary input jack. But what really sets the Fiesta apart is the way it drives.
Designed in Europe, the Fiesta is huge fun on curvy roads and delivers outstanding fuel economy, even better if you spring for the automatic (a high-tech six-speed twin-clutch transmission). It's cute, cheeky and eager, a thoroughly lovable car -- and the low price makes it that much easier to love. No question, the Fiesta is my favorite set of cheap wheels.

9. Suzuki SX4 Sedan, $14,244

Suzuki SX4

Suzuki SX4 Sedan

The base-model SX4 is your classic "loss leader" -- no air conditioning, no stereo, no automatic transmission, and you can get it in any color you like, provided the only color you like is white. That said, the SX4 does come with power windows and locks, antilock brakes, and a zinger of an engine -- 2 liters and 150 horsepower, which makes it the muscle car of the bargain-basement set. I love the SX4 for its its cute styling, big back seat, and high fun-to-drive factor, but if you're shopping for bargain wheels, it's a bit hard to justify.

10. Nissan Cube 1.8, $14,740

Nissan Cube

Nissan Cube 1.8

The Cube is all about cutting-edge style, and it would be perfectly understandable if Nissan charged a premium for it -- any other automaker would. But not Nissan: The Cube is actually their second-cheapest car. Better yet, it comes loaded with standard equipment, including air conditioning, a CD player, power windows and locks, antilock brakes, and electronic stability control. The Cube isn't particularly thrilling to drive, but it's fun to look at, has gobs of passenger space, and offers outstanding value-for-money.

2011 diesel cars in the USA " Populer cars in america"

A wide variety of car manufacturers have diesel available in Europe, but the stricter emissions standards in the States have prevented them from bringing those models over here. It’s evidently quite expensive to upgrade a standard diesel engine so that it meets US “clean diesel” standards. Therefore, while there are some diesel powered cars available in the United States, it’s currently a minority market.
Without further hesitation, here’s our list of diesel powered cars for 2011 in the US:
Acura - There has been speculation of an Acura diesel model in the US for 2011, but recent updates show that the manufacturer is currently shying away from one being offered in the US. Currently, there is no diesel model available.
Audi - Audi will continue to offer its TDI diesel line. Complete information can be found on the Audi TDI site. The two cars offered are the Audi A3 TDI and the Audi Q7 TDI.
Audi

In 2010, the A3 was listed as the Green Car Journal’s ‘Green Car of The Year.’ It gets 30 mpg hwy and 42 mpg city. You may also remember it from the Green Police Ad featured during the last Superbowl.
Audi 2011 cars

The Q7 TDI is Audi’s diesel powered SUV. This SUV gets 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. Coincidentally, it’s also the same diesel engine that the Porsche Diesel engine is based off of (however, Porsche currently only has a diesel model available in Europe). More information about the Q7 can be found here.
BMW - Many will argue that Bavarian Motor Works make some of the finest cars out there. Not to be outdone, BMW also offers two different diesel models: The 335d and the X5 xDrive 35d.
BMW 2011

The 335d sedan features a 3.0L 6cyl Turbodiesel 6A engine, and gets 23 mpg city and 36 mpg highway (for a combined total of 27).
2011 BMW X5

The 2011 BMW X5 xDrive 35d features is a 265 horsepower, 3.0-liter, inline 6-cylinder engine with TwinPower Turbo technology that gets 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.
Buick - There are no Buick diesel models available in the US for 2011.
Cadillac - Cadillac does not currently offer any of their models in Diesel.
Chevrolet - There are no Chevy cars that feature diesel, but the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD Pickup Truck comes with a Duramax 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8 that has an output of 397 max horsepower and 765 lb.-ft. of torque.
Chevrolet 2011

This truck is supposed to have a 11% increase in fuel saving technology over the 2010 model.
Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge – Chrysler and Jeep do not offer any cars with diesel capabilities for 2011. Dodge, however does. The 2011 Ram Chassis is available in diesel (if you plan to do a lot of heavy loading from now and then, or are really just a hoss).
In addition, the 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 models are also slated to be diesel trucks, with the 2500 typically getting 15 mpg city and 20 hwy.
Ford - Cars, not so much. Trucks, Yes. The Ford Super Duty models (F-250, F-350, and F-450) are all available with a 6.7L Power Stroke(R) V8 Turbo Diesel Engine.
Ford 2011

These trucks are workhorses, but can also be the maximum in comfort. The King Ranch edition, for example comes fully loaded so you can utilize your truck in style as well as in an alternative fuel manner.
GMC - Much like Chevy, GMC will feature the Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD models with a diesel engine.
Honda - While there has been plenty of speculation and hope of Honda releasing a 2011 diesel model in the US, it doesn’t appear as if that will be happening.
Hyundai - The folks over at Hyundai currently have no diesel models slated for the US in 2011.
Kia - Kia currently does not have a diesel powered car in the US market.
Lexus - While there are plenty of fuel efficient hybrids that Lexus has to offer, they currently do not have a diesel model available in the United States.
Lincoln - There are no Lincoln diesel models listed for the 2011 year.
Mazda - No diesel models are listed for 2011.
Mercedes-Benz - Mercedes features three models with their diesel Bluetec system. These models are the ML350, the GL350, and the R350. The R350 model is a crossover, while the G and M models are sport utility vehicles.
Mercedes-Benz

As far as gas mileage is concerned the M class will get 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, the G class will get 17 mpg city and 23 mpg highway, and the R class will get 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. These models were also available in 2010.
Mercury - There are no Mercury diesel models listed for 2011.
Mitsubishi -2011 does not have any diesel models listed for Mercury.
Nissan - There are no diesel cars slated to come out for Nissan in 2011, despite some speculation.
Pontiac - There are no new Pontiacs for 2011, or ever for that matter. Hence, there will be no Pontiac models available as diesel powered cars either.
Porsche - While there is a Porsche Cayenne diesel powered SUV available in Europe, there is not currently one available in the USA.
However, a unique fact is that the engine technology used for the Porsche Cayenne Diesel features the same look and basic engine design of the Volkswagon Toureg TDI and the Audi Q7 TDI, both of which are available in the United States of America.
Saab - There are currently no Saab diesel models slated for 2011 in America.
Saturn - There are currently no Saturn diesel models available. Much like Pontiac, there will be no more Saturns made ever. So hope you weren’t holding out hope for a Saturn diesel model, because quite simply put: it’s not going to happen.
Subaru - Subaru unfortunately doesn’t have any diesel models available in the US, although they are available in Europe.
Toyota - There has also been some buzz and speculation of Toyota potentially releasing a diesel model in the US in 2011, but this will not be the case either.
Volkswagen - Ah yes, the “V-dub.” There are actually four Volkswagen diesel models available in the United States. They are the Touareg TDI (a sport utility vehicle), the Jetta TDI, The Jetta SportWagen TDI, and the Volkswagen Golf.
Volkswagen

Gas Milage for the Touareg is 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. For the Jetta, it’s a whopping 30 mpg and 42 mpg highway. As far as the golf is concerned, you’re going to be looking at a very similar number: 30 mpg city and 41 mpg highway.
Volvo - There have been Volvo diesels before, and there are Volvo diesel cars overseas, but 2011 will not see any Volvo diesel cars in the United States.
Did we miss anything? Let us know in the comments!

The Top 10 Cars for Getting the Girl of Your Dreams

Three Women and a Jaguar
Add caption

An obscure Texas trio made it widely known that women dig a well-clothed chap. However, wardrobe isn’t the only means of make the ladies lock their eyes on you; what you drive can also play a significant role in modern courtship. Dating does, after all, rely heavily on first impressions, and making a good one – be it your threads, ride, greeting, whatever – could make the difference between an evening filled with awkward silence and an evening filled with awkward friskiness.

This is not to say that there aren’t women out there whose only criteria are immaterial things like sweetness and a sense of humor (and we’d really, really like to meet those gals). But if you show up in a Plymouth Horizon wearing its original Diahrrea Metallic paint and held together with dental floss, Great Stuff and street signs obtained via means of ambiguous legality, the odds of her asking you in after you bring her home are gonna be pretty slim. What’s more, the kind of vehicle you drive might not mesh well with the kind of girl you’re after; ladies who wear “No Blood for Oil!” shirts, for instance, seldom go on second dates with guys who roll up in lifted pickups. Just like in advertising, knowing your target audience is crucial. Here, then, are 10 automobiles guaranteed (Okay, semi-likely) to win over the sort of Fräulein you fancy.

Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe

Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe

Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe

When trying to garner the attention of the über-wealthy lasses of the world, normal, every day luxury cars probably aren’t going to cut the caviar. Lexus? Mercedes-Benz? Jaguar? Leave those to the hired help; if you want to give her the kind of pampering and opulence to which she’s accustomed, step up to a Rolls-Royce. Better yet, step up to that iconic brand’s priciest new model, the Phantom Drophead Coupe (convertible to us peons). The combination of head-turning styling, first-rate materials (including teak decking on the soft top’s hard tonneau cover) and – provided you don’t opt for a picnic setup or something – adequate trunk space for those days she drags, er, invites you along on a shopping spree on Rodeo Drive make this British behemoth a sound investment (provided you have more than $400k to spend on a car, of course).

Nissan GT-R

Nissan GT-R

Nissan GT-R

The import tuning scene and beautiful women are closely intertwined. It’s worth noting, though, that there are some gals who are part of that scene not just to provide eye candy, but because they genuinely love rolling up their sleeves, hopping up their rides and being around like minded people. What better way to show you’re one of those like-minded people by driving the most coveted Pacific Rim muscle car made today? The great thing about the GT-R is that it’s as much at home puttering along on a night on the town (replete with two back seats for a double date…assuming the other couple isn’t much over 5’5”) as it is using its 480hp twin-turbo V6, all-wheel-drive and horde of computers to make the laws of physics its bitches on the track. Who wouldn’t fall head-over-heels with that?

Ford F-450 Super Duty King Ranch

While not everyone appreciates horses, there are many fair damsels who do. With that in mind, what better way to make those gals saddle up with you then to squire them around in a vehicle capable of towing one equine for each day of the week simultaneously without breaking a sweat? Sure, there are other heavy-duty pickups on the market, but do any of those have a diesel engine that produces 800 lb.-ft of torque, can tow more than 12 tons(!) and has a sumptuous, leather lined cab with climate-controlled seats for you and your favorite cowgirl? No, no they do not. Yeah, you can forget about parallel parking, or spending less than three-figures to fill the tank, but when she utters the now-triple-entendre “Let’s go for a ride,” will you mind?

Tesla Roadster Sport

Tesla Roadster Sport
Tesla Roadster Sport

While you may not agree with everything the daughters of the environmental movement have to say, there’s no denying that a sizable portion of them are quite cute, and can even argue their points in civilized, logic-based ways. Sounds like an interesting evening, no? Of course, as mentioned earlier, you can’t expect it to start off on the right foot by showing up in a vehicle with a serious dino juice addiction, yet you still want something fun and flashy. Look no further than the Tesla Roadster Sport. Pricey though it may be, this all-electric thrill ride will get just about any greenie girl’s seal of approval. Plus, its near-silent operation means you’ll have no trouble hearing the delighted screams of your tree-hugging honey. When you stand on the accelerator. (Why else would she be screaming with delight? Get your minds out of the gutter!)

Nissan Cube

Nissan Cube

Nissan Cube

There’s been a significant shift back toward downtown living in this country of late, mainly perpetuated by hiptwenty- and thirty-somethings living in converted loft spaces. This begs the question: What if there was a vehicle that was the four-wheeled equivalent of a repurposed ex-garment factory? Turns out there are a few, but the one that really sticks out is the Nissan Cube. From its asymmetrical rear styling (which Nissan was kind enough to flip-flop for lefthand-drive markets like ours), to the ripples-in-a-pond headliner, to the available shag carpet pad atop the dash (to keep stuff from sliding around), the Cube is cute, fashionable and cheeky to a fault…perfect for helping you meet uptown girls that meet similar descriptions.

Jeep Wrangler

2011 Jeep Wrangler

Jeep Wrangler

If you’re all about gals who like being close to nature, you’re pretty spoiled for choice when it comes to rides that will capture the hearts of such ladies. But really, you can’t go wrong with what is arguably the most iconic and most hardcore vehicle in the outdoor adventure segment. The Jeep Wrangler has been softened a bit over the years (the new 2011 model features even more refinements), but you can still fold down the top, flip down the windshield, unbolt the doors and proceed to drive over and through stuff you had no idea you could get over or through in a vehicle. A four-wheeled getaway – romantic or otherwise – to the great outdoors has never been easier.

Caterham R500

Caterham R500

Caterham R500

Speaking of focused, back-to-basics automobiles, Caterham builds only vehicles fitting that description. Still based on a Lotus designed in the 1950s, Caterhams are light, graceful, agile and responsive. Call us crazy/mysoginistic/uncultured/etc., but that sounds a lot like the automotive equivalent of a ballerina. Even if there aren’t many tutu-clad cuties out there who can appreciate the way these little British buzzbombs dance through the corners, there are surely some girls out there who get all hot and bothered about the idea of a big, four-wheeled superbike.

Audi A8

2011 Audi A8

Audi A8

If the popularity of ComicCon and “The Big Bang Theory” are any indication, geek is now chic. Of course, geekdom knows no barriers, gender among them. And one car that will probably make the gadget-mad girls go gaga is Audi’s new third generation A8. While the fact that it’s a big, German luxury sedan will score you lots of points on its own, cutting edge technology like the aluminum spaceframe construction, LED headlights and the latest iteration of the Four Ring marque’s Multimedia Interface (MMI) system featuring a touchpad that lets you “write” commands with your finger will be what helps you level up. 1337.

Mercedes-Benz CL63 AMG

If the lady for whom you yearn loves to spend her days hitting the links, you’d be wise to look at a car with a spacious trunk yet still enough style and panache that the valet is literally compelled to park your chariot out front. Sadly, that rules out the Buick Park Avenue (unless you’re one of the people who remember where you were and what you were doing on 12/7, in which case you’re okay). Mercedes-Benz’s CL-class full-size coupes, by contrast, are way, way above par (which in this case is a good thing), and the refreshed-for-2011 CL63 AMG has an even better handicap. The new twin-turbo V8 packs a truly mighty swing, and the cavernous trunk means there’s plenty of room for her clubs, your clubs and some luggage for the weekend. Can’t tee up enough green to bring one home? That’s rough.

For some Americans, patriotism is a 365-day-a-year emotion. Whether you dismiss such folks as valuable pillars of the community, jingoistic loonbats or something in between, the fact of the matter is there are some truly lovely lasses that fit into this segment of the population. So what do you drive to get their attention? If you ask us, you can’t do much better than the Corvette ZR1. With a 638hp Motown-born heart in a Yankee Doddle dandy of a body from the Bluegrass State, the baddest production Vette ever’s stat sheet is peppered with numbers that will shame many serious supercars hailing from across the seas, and do so for a fraction of the price. Your sweetie will definitely appreciate that, especially if you’re running late for a baseball game or apple-pie baking contest.

World's Most Popular Car Color: Silver under threat from Black

2010 DuPont Automotive Color Popularity Study

DuPont has rolled out its annual Automotive Color Popularity Report, and it looks like the long-reigning king may be under threat from a new foe. Silver held the most popular color title for seven years until 2007, when it was dethroned by the likes of white and white metallic. That trend carried over for 2008, but in 2009, silver took its place in the spotlight once again. Now it looks like black may be staging a comeback. This year, of all the cars sold around the world, 26 percent went home with a silver paint job, but 24 percent rolled out of the factory with a black coat of shiny.

Meanwhile, white, white pearl and grey soaked up just 16 percent of all cars sold in 2010. Dupont says that black's popularity is largely propelled by the color's success in markets outside of the U.S., where noir doesn't quite have the same swagger as elsewhere. In fact, here in North America, white retained its popularity with a three percent lead over black and a four-percent jump over silver.

And what about the least popular color of the year? That one goes to yellow and gold, with just 1 percent of all new vehicles swaddled in the color of sunshine and the 70's. Hit the jump for the full press release. Hat tip to Brent!

The study goes past the specific model and narrows down vehicles by trim. Somewhat unsurprisingly, the least expensive vehicles are dominated by minivans, while the most expensive list is filled with high-powered German machines. We cut down the list of 40 to show you the top 10 from each side of the fence and included the average annual premium for each vehicle after the jump.

These cars are most popular in united kingdom all the time.

The UK’s most popular cars revealed - News image

The Ford Focus is the UK’s most popular car for the tenth consecutive year with more than 100,000 sold in 2008.

In total, 101,593 Focuses were sold in the UK with the Vauxhall Corsa the second biggest seller – shifting 99,574.

Third place in the list went to the Ford Fiesta with the Vauxhall Astra and VW Golf making up the top five.

However, on the whole 2008 wasn’t a good year for the new car market with overall sales down 11.3 per cent from 2.4million to 2.1million with this year’s sale predicted to fall to 1.78million.

Petrol cars took the biggest hit as cost-conscious motorists look to save money, falling 17.3 per cent while diesel sales fell 4 per cent.

This means petrol cars accounted for 55 per cent (down from 59) with diesels bridging the gap, making up 44 per cent (up from 40).

The UK’s most popular cars:

Ford Focus (101,593 cars sold in 2008)
2008 saw the launch of a face-lifted version of the second generation Focus and it has kept the popular Ford as the UK’s favourite car for the tenth year running.

We said: When you get the opportunity to tackle a fantastic road, in a beautiful location all you really NEED is a driving licence, a sense of fun and a car.

But what you WANT is a car which will enable you to exploit the opportunity, look the part and make you feel like saying “thank you very much” to it afterwards.

Vauxhall Corsa
Vauxhall Corsa (99,574)
Now in its third generation, the Corsa continues to be a strong seller, thanks to its tidy looks, good selection of engines and trim levels and affordable price-tag.

We said: The fact it’s the car of choice for thousands of driving instructors is testament to its ability as an easy-to-drive supermini.

The Corsa is more fun to drive than its predecessors, with remarkably low running costs.
Ford Fiesta
Ford Fiesta (94,989)
The sales of the Fiesta are staggering considering the new model didn’t go on sale until October, illustrating the all-round competence and desirability of the model it replaced.

We said (new model): Out on the open road the Fiesta feels as poised and precise as you could ever want, putting some more overtly sporting machinery to shame.

We said (old model): The handling is excellent, the suspension is firm but not harsh, while the steering has a sharp feel.

Vauxhall Astra
Vauxhall Astra (90,641)
Even though it was launched in 2004, the latest Vauxhall Astra still has a cutting edge design, something that has helped keep it towards to top of the sales charts.

We say: You can’t get better than five stars from the EuroNCAP crash tests and that’s exactly what the Astra got.
Volkswagen Golf
Volkswagen Golf (65,029)
Even though it’s about to be replaced, the fifth generation Golf is still a great car and VW knows this which is why the new model shares most of its parts with the five. We say (old model): Volkswagen Golfs are cool cars - economic, solidly-built motors, which perform well while maintaining an element of class that few rivals can offer. We say (new model): Finish standards, materials and comfort levels are excellent in the new VW Golf while new white backlit dials also promote the view that the new car now offers a smarter driving environment

Peugeot 207
Peugeot 207 (53,462)
The Peugeot 207, with its good choice of engines and provocative design, is the only French car to make the top ten.

We say: Peugeot picked up five stars in the Euro NCAP tests for adults in the car and four for junior passengers. It was also awarded three stars for pedestrian protection.

BMW 3 Series
BMW 3 Series (49,384)
For a premium car maker to appear in the top ten list shows just how popular the BMW 3 Series is.

We say: On the open road, the BMW 3 Series still displays impeccable driving manners and is a blast to drive thanks to its perfect 50:50 weight distribution.
Ford Mondeo
Ford Mondeo (44,150)
As with the Focus and Fiesta, Ford has another great car in the Mondeo which handles brilliantly, is well built and has a large selection of engines boasting a good compromise between sporty performance and affordable running costs.

We say: Steers well, handles well, will deliver you to your destination in comfort. Drivers expect these qualities in a Ford Mondeo and the latest version delivers in spades.

Vauxhall Zafira
Vauxhall Zafira (43,169)
The seven-seat Zafira is the only MPV to make the list. Launched in 2005, the second generation Zafira is practical, safe and handles well for a people carrier.

We say: In sharing many of its chassis components with the Astra, the Zafira can be thrown round corners with the kind of vigour that would have put the old model in a ditch.
Vauxhall Vectra
Vauxhall Vectra (42,555)
While it wasn’t always looked upon as the most enticing choice in the family saloon segment, the Vectra proved to be a impressive sales success for Vauxhall thanks in a large part to the company car market.

The Vectra has been replaced by the excellent Insignia but you can still find a great deal – with some knocking around at less than half the list price.

We say: Vauxhall has done a great job of tailoring the Vectra’s ride and handling to its customers needs. It is easy to drive, making you feel at home, and immediately impressing with its hushed ride.

We say (Vauxhall Insignia): Even in the stiff Sport mode, the ride quality is excellent. For the bulk of our test route, we left the car in its normal setting, and found it a superb compromise, affording plenty of comfort, but very limited bodyroll through bends.
