Hybrid car |
Hybrid cars are high mileage automobiles, driven by the system of "motor – combustion engine", fed as a fuel and electric charge of the battery. The main advantage of hybrid cars is to reduce the fuel consumption and emissions.
Generally, a hybrid is an organism, obtained by crossing genetically different parent forms (species, breeds, lines, etc.) (from the Latin Hibrida – hybrid).
Genetically different forms in our case are the internal combustion engine (ICE) and the electric motor. On the one hand, the price of oil is getting higher every day, which will inevitably bring to the decline the glorious days of the ICE. However, on the other hand, modern electric engines still need some form of development.
Below are the main advantages of hybrid cars:
1. Efficient operation
2. Environmentally friendly
3. Good driving characteristics
4. Save and reuse of energy
5. Normal refueling possible
Nowadays, Toyota is a leading company in manufacturing hybrid cars. However, mass production of hybrid cars is constrained by the lack of nickel-metal hydride batteries.
In 2009, Japan sold 90,410 hybrid vehicles, which is 47,6% more than in 2008.
In 2009, sales of hybrid cars in the US rose by 22% compared to 2008. Hybrid cars in the U.S. have 1.5% market share of new passenger cars.
Total from 1999 until the end of 2009 the U.S. sold 1.002 million of hybrid cars.
