Porsche 918 Spyder was the production. The impressive supercar dropped jaws at the auto show in Geneva in 2010 to modernize its Carrera GT looks and super-powerful hybrid drivetrain, and is prepared to lose some of its impact on the travel show floor showroom.

For starters, their numbers remain the same headline – the combination of a V8 petrol engine and electric motors will deliver 718bhp-plus in combination with a fuel economy of 94mpg stated (more than any current production car in the UK , Prius and diddy diesel vehicles included) and CO2 emissions of 70g/km, which under current rules is equivalent to road tax free. Combined with a 3.2sec 0-62mph sprint and top speed 199 mph (and sub-7min 30sec designed around Nordschleife), and you have a hard drive in order to understand set of impressive figures.

The engine is a mid-mounted, high-speed eight-cylinder Porsche which he describes as’ more than 4.0 liters, and is based on the engine of the Porsche RS Spyder racing car, putting out “more than 500 horses. He directs the rear wheels via a gearbox seven-speed dual-clutch PDK, while there is an electric motor on both front and rear axles, giving the pair a combined 218bhp. This effectively makes the unit 918 Spyder on all wheels, with the system is said to be variable. Sounds to us like a large bias when the back coat complete, however.

Dubbed a plug-in hybrid, the Spyder can be driven around 20 miles on electric power alone and its lithium-ion batteries can be charged from household power outlets.
